Juror: Debra Garcia y Griego who has a 15 year background in Arts Administration that includes visual and performing arts. Currently, she is the Senior Planner for the City of Santa Fe Arts Commission, overseeing a nearly $1 million grant-making program as well as the 2% for Public Art Program. Garcia y Griego has a Masters of Fine Arts from the Art Institute of Chicago and a BFA from the University of New Mexico. A native New Mexican, she is committed to preserving the cultural traditions of her community while fostering contemporary forms of artistic expression.

In celebrating its 20th year our "Faces" Exhibit is all inclusive: women and men, children, faces, figures alone or in relationship. We celebrate the human symbolically, abstractly, figuratively, or in representational form and in two or three dimensions.

The Faces and Interfaces 2010 exhibit will run from March 13 to April 16.

Awards:
* Best of Show $500
* Best of 2-D 250
* Best of 3-D 250
* Honorable Mentions

Submission:
Work must not exceed three feet in any dimension, nor weigh more than 50 pounds. work must be original and completed in the past two years. Two dimensional work must be properly prepared for hanging (no sawtooth hangers).

Entry Check List:
* Digital files (jpeg): Image files should be no larger than 200 dpi, and should also be of a file size no larger than 10 MB. Files should be submitted on CD to: Faces and Interfaces, Las Vegas Arts Council, PO Box 2603, Las Vegas, New Mexico 87701; or electronically to submissions@facesinterfaces.com or through our website at:

* Entry Fee: $25 non-refundable for one entry, $10 for each additional entry. Check or money order payable to LVAC.
* SASE: Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope for juror's decision (if you wish to be notified by regular mail).
* Commission: Please include 25% commission for LVAC in the pricing of your work.

I don't see Hispanic artists in your brief comments, etc. Is there any effort being expended to recruit the many artists in our area--not only Las Vegas, but Ledoux, Tewa, San Jose, etc., they all contribute to Las Vegas' economy, art support, etc. Let's enrich our artist community by their contributions. I'd like to see a welcoming environment and I'll do my part to recruit. Thanks

Hi I got an email saying there were not enough participants this year. Maybe there will be another show of some kind we can participate in. But I am new here so I dont know exactly how it works.
